PLOS is a non-profit organization on a mission to drive open science forward with measurable, meaningful change in research publishing, policy, and practice.

Building on a strong legacy of pioneering innovation, PLOS continues to be a catalyst, reimagining models to meet open science principles, removing barriers and promoting inclusion in knowledge creation and sharing, and publishing research outputs that enable everyone to learn from, reuse and build upon scientific knowledge.

We believe in a better future where science is open to all, for all.

PLOS BLOGS Latitude

About This Blog

Welcome to Latitude – the blog for environmental science at PLOS.

We hope to provide an exciting venue for readers, authors, editors and friends of PLOS’ environmental journals to discuss global and regional topics that are important for improving and maintaining a sustainable planet. This venue will explore the interaction between people and the environment and be a platform that will bridge diverse science communities.

In addition to staff contributions, we are interested in submissions on topics that include the causes and effects of climate change; the sustainable consumption, management and supply of water as a vital human resource; and how renewable resources can transform our way of life and achieve a sustainable future.

We are looking for scientific, technological, behavioral, socio-economic and ethical perspectives. We encourage researchers and policy experts to share their experiences from the field, views on critical environmental issues and hopes for the future of our planet.
