PLOS is a non-profit organization on a mission to drive open science forward with measurable, meaningful change in research publishing, policy, and practice.

Building on a strong legacy of pioneering innovation, PLOS continues to be a catalyst, reimagining models to meet open science principles, removing barriers and promoting inclusion in knowledge creation and sharing, and publishing research outputs that enable everyone to learn from, reuse and build upon scientific knowledge.

We believe in a better future where science is open to all, for all.

Explore the Environmental Policy Collection

Our new Curated Collection on Environmental Policy brings together policy perspectives and policy-relevant research from across PLOS’ environmental journals: PLOS ClimatePLOS Sustainability and Transformation, and PLOS Water. This diverse collection spans a wide range of environmental topics, and shines a light on research findings of special relevance to policy-making, the impact of specific policy interventions, opportunities for innovation in policy design, and the need for further targeted research to inform evidence-based decision-making processes.

Our Editors-in-Chief explain the significance of the Collection:

“Putting open environmental research in the hands of policymakers has never been more important. This collection of papers from PLOS Climate, PLOS Sustainability and Transformation, and PLOS Water highlights original research and thought leadership with strong implications for policy to help turn recommendations into reality for environmental governance.”
